This course is composed of classroom, text, and computer components. Sixty percent of student time is spent in a collaborative classroom environment and forty percent is spent working independently at the computer. The course includes the following topics: simplifying expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities algebraically and graphically, modeling using linear and quadratic equations, proportional reasoning, data analysis and predictions, exponents, functions, slopes and intercepts. Nearly all topics are presented through realistic problem scenarios and using multiple representations.
