Spanish IV
Syllabus
Please note that I do not use a textbook for this course. This course will focus on refining their reading and writing skills in the language. The course is meant to emphasis conversational abilities and therefore will be conducted in a very oral manner.
Students will read two stories in Spanish, Manchamanteles and El Monte de las Animas, and answer short essay questionson both stories. Students will write a response paper based on the story El Monte de las Animas.
Students will be expected to complete AP exercises that focus on Grammar and Listening. Please be aware that a notebook and a dictionary are necessities for this course. The teacher will provide all necessary vocabulary, verbs and grammar rules to the student in the form of lectures and notes.
Grading
The course is graded on a total point system. All tests, projects and homework will be graded based on total points earned. All tests will be oral and in the form of a discussion. These will be in addition to homework asignments and quizzes.
A typical nine-weeks will generally have between 600 and 900 points. The speaking component will begin the first nine-weeks. The "Anuncios" can be given at the beginning of calss and are worth 200 points per grading period.
Twice during the year students will be asked to work with a partner to create Lesson Plans and materials to be used in the Elementary.
