Greetings from Moshannon Valley School DistrictDear Students, Parents, Employees and Friends of Moshannon Valley,
As spring approaches, we are excited that school is looking more and more like traditional school. Masks are no longer required on district transportation, and while still recommended when in close contact, they are no longer mandated in any school situation. The school play is right around the corner with April 8, 9, and 10 dates - bring the entire family to Spongebob the Musical. Spring sports are underway and we are excited about the season for both softball and baseball!
We will continue to be guided by our 2021-2024 District Comprehensive Plan and our Health and Safety Plan as we strive to provide the best educational opportunities for our students.
While many may disagree across the country, I believe it is a wonderful time to be excited about what the future holds for our students, staff, and families. The COVID-19 event forced us to review many of our curricular practices and engagement strategies and our teachers have shown just what an excellent instructional staff we have. Our significant investments in our curricular resources, including Inspire Science [grades 3-10]; StudySync ELA [grades 7-11], GoMath [Grades K-11], Pearson Social Studies [Grades 7-12], and Second Step Social Emotional Learning [Grades K-8], have improved student engagement, combined more technology, and are improving student growth. Know that as a District, we will continue to value students' ability to self-regulate for their academic pursuits and success. Moshannon Valley will be asking students to challenge themselves academically, asking administration and staff to challenge themselves professionally, and looking for the entire community to get excited about the future of Moshannon Valley. Moshannon Valley will be #MVLearningFocused in all we do!
To those not familiar with the school district, the Moshannon Valley School Board Members and I would like to welcome you!
