     FIND A MEAL:

All Seamless Summer Option (SSO) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) “open” sites are reported to USDA and mapped at www.fns.usda.gov\meals4kids.  This map identifies all approved SSO and SFSP sites throughout the state that are listed as an “open site” in PEARS.  As a reminder, an open site means that meal service is open to any child, 18 years or younger in the community, not just students enrolled in the school.

Free Meals for all children ages 18 and under

The Moshannon Valley School District has been approved to provide free meals for all children ages 18 and under for the 2020-2021 school year. Therefore, effective Wednesday, September 9, all breakfast and lunch meals will be free for all students every school day, regardless of income.

In-person Students – Students in District buildings will continue through cafeteria lines as normal at the high school and eating in classrooms at the elementary school for lunch, but meals will be free.  Lunch choices include both hot and cold options daily.  Students in Grades 7-12 will order lunch through their MoValley email daily.  Students in grades K-6 will order choices through their homeroom teacher daily.  All students have the option of picking up a free breakfast each morning upon entering the buildings.

Online Students – Meal pick-ups will be held daily from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at the high school gym/auditorium entrance.  Families of cyber students need to RSVP [one time] to Mrs. Danielle Detwiler ddetwiler@movalley.org to be added to the list for daily pick up.

We recommend that families who believe they would qualify for free/reduced meals complete an application to ensure a seamless transition within the National School Lunch Program when the free meal program ends.

In the event the school must close due to Covid 19, please click here for information on receiving free breakfasts and lunches.
