Superintendent's Message
Dear Students, Families, Employees, and Friends of Moshannon Valley,
As the third marking period of the 2024- 2025 comes to an end, we are preparing for the upcoming testing sessions. We had a wonderful fall and winter sports season, and baseball and softball seasons are just getting ready to start. The drama production of Percy Jackson, The Lightning Thief was wonderful show and wrapped with three great performances. Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and advisors for a job well done!
Our 2024-2027 District Comprehensive Plan was approved by PDEand our new - MV Vision 2035 initiative has been presented to the School Board and continues along the path to implementation as we strive to not only define what is needed to be a successful graduate, staff, facilities, programs, and district, but outline the first steps to achieving our goal. Our MV Vision 2035 Initiative was the recipient of the 2025 Building Community Through Rural Education Award presented by Penn State University's Center on Rural Education and Communities and the Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools.
With that said, I believe it is a wonderful time to be excited about what the future holds for our students, staff, and families. Moshannon Valley has made significant investments in our curricular resources, facilities, and instructional technology. Programs like our innovative eSports gaming facility and competition team and our MTSS program are just of few of the wonderful opportunities for students. Know that as a District, we will continue to value students' ability to self-regulate for their academic pursuits and success. Moshannon Valley will be asking students to challenge themselves academically, asking administration and staff to challenge themselves professionally, and looking for the entire community to get excited about the future of Moshannon Valley.
To those not familiar with the school district, the Moshannon Valley School Board Members and I would like to welcome you! We believe educating our children is the most important work done in our society. Our commitment to the community is to promote every educational opportunity for our students while providing a safe and nurturing environment for all. We are proud of our district and the collaborative efforts made in and out of the classroom that impact our students. Our students and staff take pride in their school, their community, and in each other, because we believe that together we can make a difference in the lives of our students and staff.
