Ever wonder why the waterway under the bridge in Madera is orange? This is exactly what seniors in Mr. Zeak's science classes explored this week while participating in a unique watershed experience. Students completed several chemical tests to gather and interpret data on a local environmental issue: Acid Mine Drainage. Students will now complete posters and write letters to local and state legislators to draw awareness to this issue with the help of our Galaxy artist, Lynn Anne Verbeck and Galaxy author, Jenna Rice. Thank you to all stakeholders for fostering and supporting this learning experience!
