Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH), Pennsylvania’s venison donation program. Hunters can donate extra venison through a statewide network of participating butchers to food pantries and community assistance centers, helping families in need. Since 1991, HSH has distributed 2.5 million pounds of donated venison across the state.
There are a few participating locations locally. You can view a map of meat processors here: https://sharedeer.org/meat%20processors/
This is a resource that families within our district may benefit from both as harvesters and recipients.

🐄🐖🐔 Ms. Lang’s 8th Grade Discovering Agriculture class has been busy learning all about livestock!
Students researched their assigned breeds of cattle, pigs, and chickens, answering questions about each. Then they got creative—building and painting cardboard cutouts of their animals to match real-life breed colors! 🎨
To share their new knowledge, the class took part in “Animal Speed Dating”—rotating around the room to learn about each other’s animals, their purposes, and unique identifying features. 💬
Next up: they’ll round out their Animal Science Unit by studying eggs 🥚 and chicken & beef cuts 🥩!

🎃 Historical Halloween Fun in Ms. Buell’s U.S. History II Classes! 👻
Students took time to create historical pumpkin paintings this week! Each class was challenged to design a scene connected to something they’ll study throughout the year — then write creative captions to explain their artwork. 🖌️📜
