After an extraordinary career spanning 30 years with the Moshannon Valley School District, we would like to congratulate Dr. Tracie Tomasko on her retirement!
A proud Moshannon Valley alumna from the Class of 1982, Dr. Tomasko dedicated her career to serving the students, families, and staff of the district she has always called home. Throughout her three decades of service, she made a lasting impact as a 4th Grade Teacher, Teacher Mentor, Elementary Principal, and Interim Superintendent.
Committed to lifelong learning and educational excellence, Dr. Tomasko earned her Doctorate in Education, bringing her knowledge, leadership, and passion for student success to every role she held. Whether she was teaching in the classroom, mentoring fellow educators, leading a school building, or guiding the district through times of transition, she consistently put students first and worked tirelessly to create opportunities for others to succeed.
Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to Moshannon Valley have left an indelible mark on our school community. The countless students, colleagues, and families whose lives she has touched are a testament to the legacy she leaves behind.
Dr. Tomasko, thank you for your years of service, your leadership, and your dedication to the Moshannon Valley School District. We wish you a retirement filled with happiness, relaxation, new adventures, and all the time to enjoy the things you love most.

🎉🍎Celebrating Mr. Rudy Kowalcyk🎉🍎
For more than 30 years, Mr. Kowalcyk has dedicated his career to the students, staff, and community of Moshannon Valley. A proud Mo Valley alumnus from the Class of 1969 and a United States Marine Corps veteran, Rudy has embodied service, leadership, and commitment throughout his life.
While many know him as an outstanding teacher, his impact extends far beyond the classroom. Over the years, he has worn countless hats, serving as a football coach, teacher mentor, yearbook advisor, driver's education instructor, department chairperson, and morning bus duty. No matter the role, he always approached it with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
Generations of Black Knights & Damsels have benefited from his guidance, encouragement, and unwavering dedication. His influence can be seen not only in the achievements of his students but also in the many colleagues he mentored and supported throughout his career.
As he begins this well-earned retirement, we thank Mr. Kowalcyk for his decades of service to Moshannon Valley and wish him many years of happiness, health, and new adventures.

After a remarkable career dedicated to educating and inspiring students, we would like to congratulate Mrs. Janet Hook on her retirement!
Mrs. Hook served the Milton Area School District from 2009-2015 before joining the Moshannon Valley School District, where she spent 11 years making a lasting impact on our students, staff, and community as a beloved 4th Grade Teacher.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Hook went above and beyond the classroom as a mentor teacher and Odyssey of the Mind coach, helping students grow both academically and creatively. She will also be fondly remembered by generations of students for the live animals that made her classroom such a unique and exciting place to learn.
Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to children have touched countless lives, and her influence will continue long after she leaves the classroom.
Mrs. Hook, thank you for your years of service, your passion for teaching, and the difference you have made in the lives of so many students. We wish you a retirement filled with happiness, adventure, and all the things you enjoy most!

Congratulations to our Moshannon Valley Black Knight Wrestling Team on bringing home 1st Place out of 16 teams at the 2026 Lycoming College Team Camp! 🏆
Throughout the camp, our wrestlers competed with determination, challenged themselves against tough competition, and continued to sharpen their skills. Most importantly, they represented Moshannon Valley with pride, sportsmanship, and teamwork every step of the way.
This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the hard work these athletes have been putting in during the offseason.

Lauren recently hosted a chicken dinner fundraiser and donated the proceeds to the Moshannon Valley FFA and Clearfield FFA Chapters. Each chapter received an amazing $1,500 donation! 💙💛
Today, Queen Lauren presented the check to Ms. Lang, Saige Hamer (MoValley FFA President), and Mrs. O’Hare. Thanks to this generous contribution, FFA members will have opportunities to attend leadership events, build new skills, and continue growing as future leaders in agriculture and our communities. 🌾🐄🚜

The event began with a special senior biography and future plans video recognizing the Class of 2026 and the exciting paths ahead for our seniors. Students then enjoyed ice cream and a variety of outdoor activities, including a bounce house obstacle course, cornhole, can jam, coloring stations, thank-you letter writing, and activities provided by the National Guard.🎉

Our very own Moshannon Valley High School Biology/Anatomy teacher, Mr. Hunter Horning, wanted to share some exciting opportunities available through the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette! Before joining Mo Valley, Mr. Horning worked there as the Conservation Education Specialist. 🐾
The center offers a variety of educational programs, summer camps, and educator workshops for both students and teachers! Opportunities include:
🦌 One-day Summer Elk Camp for students ages 8–12
🌿 One-day Summer Camp for students ages 13–17
📚 Educator Workshop worth 6.0 Act 48 Hours
🍃 Additional Educator Workshop worth 6.0 Act 48 Hours
These programs are great enrichment opportunities for students and a wonderful way for educators to earn Act 48 hours while learning more about Pennsylvania wildlife and conservation!
