Yesterday in Mrs. Jeffrey’s first-grade class, students were up and moving as they played a game of “Scoot” to practice the three different sounds of /ed/ at the end of words! 🏃‍♂️📚✏️

Learning + movement = the perfect combo! Our young Knights had a blast sharpening their phonics skills while working together and staying active. 💛🖤

The High School Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) crew got down to business (and snacks 👀) during yesterday’s activity period! 🍽️🗣️

Students spilled ALL the tea on the cafeteria menu — the must-keeps, the “maybe not again…”, and the please bring this back ASAP items 😂

⭐ Main event: a taste test of the NEW Blueberry Cheesecake Parfait…
Result? Instant fan club. Absolute 10/10 YUM 😋🫐🍰

But it didn’t stop there — students also pitched some seriously great meal ideas we can’t wait to try out!

Want a say in what shows up on your lunch tray? Pull up a seat and join YAC next time!
Because at Mo Valley… students help make the menu 💛🖤

📚✨ Ms. Buell’s 1920s & 1930s Unit in action!

Students kicked off the unit with a hands-on stock market simulation, learning how and why the market crashed and how the Great Depression began. They also explored the impact of Hoovervilles and read sections from The Grapes of Wrath, discussing how families were forced to leave their homes and head west in search of work and a better life.

To bring history to life, students participated in a Hooverville simulation, using a “pile of trash” to build their own shelters. They then wrote a first-person story about daily life in a Hooverville and presented their experiences to the class.

An engaging way to connect history, literature, and real-world perspectives! 🏚️📖💛
