Last week, Ms. Lang’s Floral Design class put their creativity to work designing beautiful Valentine’s Day arrangements! 💐❤️

📚✨ Ms. Buell’s 1920s & 1930s Unit in action!
Students kicked off the unit with a hands-on stock market simulation, learning how and why the market crashed and how the Great Depression began. They also explored the impact of Hoovervilles and read sections from The Grapes of Wrath, discussing how families were forced to leave their homes and head west in search of work and a better life.
To bring history to life, students participated in a Hooverville simulation, using a “pile of trash” to build their own shelters. They then wrote a first-person story about daily life in a Hooverville and presented their experiences to the class.
An engaging way to connect history, literature, and real-world perspectives! 🏚️📖💛

💘🎨✨ Mrs. Kane-Degma’s 5th & 6th grade artists are bringing the WOW!
Inspired by American artist Jen Stark, students created bold Valentine-themed artwork using her vibrant, psychedelic style and high-contrast design.
The black-and-white radiating lines create an amazing optical effect behind the bright neon drip hearts—and the results are seriously eye-catching! 😍🖤💖
Way to shine, Mo Valley artists! 💛🖍️✨

💖👀🎨 Mrs. Kane-Degma’s 4th grade artists are tricking our eyes—in the BEST way!
Mrs. Kane-Degma’s fourth graders learned all about Optical Illusion Art and created their very own Optical Illusion Hearts using colored markers, oil pastels, textured plates, and colored pencils. ✏️🖍️
This mixed-media project helped students explore contour lines and depth, turning a flat heart into a 3-D illusion that really pops off the page! 😍✨
So much creativity, focus, and fun in one amazing Mo Valley art lesson! 💛🖤

❤️🖤🎨 Mrs. Kane-Degma’s third graders learned all about stained glass window art—how artists arrange colorful pieces of glass and hold them together with lead or copper foil to create beautiful designs that filter light and tell stories. ✨
To bring that idea to life, students created a Black Glue Valentine’s Day Heart that looks just like a stained glass window! Using watercolor paint and a warm or cool color scheme, they finished each piece with a glowing, glass-like effect. 💙💛💗
What a fun way for our Mo Valley artists to mix creativity, color, and craftsmanship! 💛🖍️

🐾💘🎨 Puppy love… and kitty love, too!
Mrs. Kane-Degma’s 1st & 2nd grade artists created the sweetest Valentine’s Day Pet Portraits using mixed media! 🐶🐱
This fun lesson blended step-by-step drawing with the playful, experimental side of stamping techniques—the perfect mix of skill-building and creativity!
Along the way, students practiced:
🖍️ fine motor skills
📋 following multi-step directions
🤝 and received one-on-one support when needed
We love watching our Mo Valley artists grow in confidence—and creativity! 💛✨
