We were excited to welcome Crystal Hansel, Nursing Director for the Pennsylvania State Veterans Affairs, to Ms. Buell’s class, along with her daughter AJ, one of our Career program students! 👩👧✨
Crystal shared her journey from working as a waitress during her college years 🍽️➡️🎓 to building an impressive career in long-term care facility management 🏥📈. Her story was a great reminder that hard work, dedication, and perseverance truly pay off! 💪🌟

The Houtzdale Lions Club is making a BIG impact on our Moshannon Valley Elementary Band program! 💛🖤
With band membership growing from 53 to 107 students over the past three years, the need for instruments has never been greater. Thanks to the generosity and outreach efforts of the Lions Club, community members have stepped up in an incredible way—donating instruments they no longer use to help our young musicians thrive. 🎷🎺
In just one day last week, these donations helped place:
✨ 2 Alto Saxophones
✨ 1 Tenor Saxophone
✨ 1 Clarinet
✨ 1 Flute
✨ 1 Trumpet
…directly into the hands of our elementary band students!
This success is a direct result of the Lions Club’s commitment to supporting our students and connecting with the community to gather these much-needed instruments. 👏

📰🌍 Students in Ms. Buell’s Current Events class took a deep dive into global issues by exploring how price changes in different countries impact various social classes.
Each student chose a country 🌎 and a specific social class, researched what daily life looks like, then stepped into character 🎭 to present their perspective to classmates.
It was so interesting to hear the different viewpoints 👀 and see how economic changes affect people around the world in unique ways 💭💸. Great job to everyone involved! 👏✨
